You should be able to copy your files to your CD by using Windows Explorer. Select the file(s), and then 'Send to' the cd.
This should work, you just need to know where and what the file(s) name are.
    Hope this helps.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I don't use Quickbooks, but in Quicken there is a menu selection under "File" for "Backup" that leads you to a window that allows you to select the drive letter you want to backup to. Just select the drive letter that corresponds to your CD-RW and follow the instructions. I'd assume that the procedure in Quickbooks is similar if not the same.
If you would prefer to use Dave's method, the file to move should be something like Qdat.ABC from the Quickbooks folder. I'd bet that Quickbooks also does an automatic backup, like Quicken does, and that if you simply right-click on the "Backup" folder in the Quickbooks folder and choose "Send to.." and then click on your CD-RW in the drop-down menu, that will also create a backup. But I'd try to find Quickbooks own backup utility and use it. The program did come with a users manual, no ???
