Display report controls in a different colour (Office 2000 Sr1a)

Is there some simple way , without involved VBA coding ( or just a little) to make a value printed in a report control vary in colour according to some other data condtion?
That is, can I design a report so that records that have been ammended since a certain date will show up in red when the rest of the similar entries are in plain vanilla black (to draw attention to the newly changed data).
    any ideas much appreciated.

In the On Format Event of the detail section of the report put some code like this :
<pre>Private Sub Detail1_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
    If Me!Mydate = Condition Then
    Me!Textbox1.ForeColor = vbRed
    Else
    Me!Textbox1.ForeColor = vbBlack
    End If
    End Sub</pre>
