    Office bar (Office 97)

I'm running Office 97 under NT4 and using the MS Office bar for shortcuts. Every time I try to open an application from the shortcut on the bar, it opens Quick View instead and shows details of the program I'm trying to run. Any suggestions as to how to stop this annoying behaviour?

    Re: Office bar (Office 97)

Right-click on the problem icon on the Office Shortcut bar (one at a time) and from pop-up menu choose Properties, then Shortcut tab. Text in Target box must be similar to this (including quotation marks):

    "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeWinword.exe" "%1"

    or, sometimes,

    C:PROGRA~1MICROS~1WINWORD.EXE "%1"

(Quotation marks are necessary to recoginize long filenames, as 'Program Files'; "%1" is used to open documents with long filenames.)

Thanks for your suggestion, kaplinb, but regret it doesn't work. All icons in the office bar are already in that format. Next clue is that this does not happen when logged in as administrator, but does when logged in as a different non-administrator.
