There is a check box in the "Email Options" to save a copy to the sent folder, just remove the check mark and restart Outlook.

It has been some time since I have used Outlook 98, but, I have a "Running MS Outlook 98" book on the program and it is listed and shown on page 59.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Wait a second I want to only stop a certain email with a particular subject & recipient not to be saved to the sent folder, your directions look as if no email I send to anyone will be saved!

As far as I know, it is all or none. I did NOT read that you wanted to be selective with this action.

I can't remember offhand whether there was a Rules Wizard in Outlook 98. If there was, then set up a rule to save all your items in the sent folder except............... Having done that, uncheck the box as Dave A suggested. HTH
