rollup resource assignment data (Project 2000)

Does anyone know how to roll up resource assignment data to the summary task? I have a project file that is really many tasks with the same underlying structure:

    sumtask1
    -plan
    -do
    -check

    sumtask2
    -plan
    -do
    -check

Resources are assigned to the 'plan - do - check' tasks, and what I'd like to see is for the summary tasks, what the total work assigned to the resource for that summary task.

Try the View / Task Usage view. You could add the columns for resources if needed. You could also run a report.

thanks, but that's not it - I want to see, for a summary task, one row for each resource that sums up its assignment information for all the subtasks.

in my example, if I have a resource assigned to 'plan' for 10 hours, 'check' for 10 hours, then the assignment data for sumtask1 would be 20 hours for that resource.

The only other way I know that may work to do this is to export the MS Project Data to a database (Access works nicely) and relink the data between the MSP_Tasks and MSP_Assignments tables to get the results you want. You would also have to convert the work to hours.

I will watch this string to see if anyone has an easier solution.
