    Workbook Duplication (97)

I need to take a workbook with many sheets and make it into many workbooks each with identical modules, userforms, sheet based controls, and event handlers. I had thought about just running a DOS script to copy a "master" workbook and rename each copy but I was wondering if there is any better way to do this?

I know how to use VBA to move the actual data but duplicating everything else in detail is unfamiliar territory.

You would benefit from the SaveCopyAs method. Look in VBA Help. It saves a copy of the specified workbook without changing the name of it's source:
    Dim iCount As Integer
    For iCount=1 to 10
    ActiveWorkbook.SaveCopyAs "CataCopy number " & Format(iCount),"00") & ".xls"
    Next iCount
