Word XP and Office 2K (2K, XP)

I just got a new PC with MSWorks XP installed, including WordXP. I have a licensed copy of Office 2K Premium that I want to install. I don't really need Word XP. What is the safest way to proceed?
Should I Uninstall Word XP, then install the full OXP?
    OR
Should I install OXP with everything but Word? Will I then have trouble with the Windows installer?

It seems best to uninstall Works completely, following the "install older before newer principle." If you want to experiment with Word 2002, you can then try to reinstall it along a different path and hope it doesn't wreak too much havoc.

Thanks for your post. Sorry for the delay in responding. Fortunately, Works has a selective uninstall, reached thru Control Panel/Add-Remove programs. I uninstalled Word XP and the Works Add-on for MS Word. Then I installed Office 2k without a hitch.
