Converting to Word (Office 2000 or XP)

What tools are available to convert different file formats to an editable format such as WORD ? I am interested in converting Postscript and PDF files to RTF or a similar format that Word could read.

I received this request from a co-worker. Any quick ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Another avenue to pursue is a print driver that outputs Word. As I recall, there is at least one for sale. If you have an application that reads the original format (like Acrobat reader for PDF), you can "print" to Word. For Postscript, there might be a version of Ghostscript (or similar) that could "print" the file.

I've never used this driver so I can't say how well it retains formatting.

There are many Acrobat plug-ins available that do this. There are probably just as many stand-alone apps that do it too. Go a Googling for "PDFconvert Word", or something similar. You'll see more hits than you can deal with at one sitting. One such is this: http://www.pdfcreation.com/#pdf to word
