    Values and Text (Excel 2000)

I know there is a way to have text and values in the same cell. For example I want to enter a value say 2000 Packets into a cell, and have to only enter the value 2000, and have the word "packets" show up. That way I can use the numeric value in another formula. Problem is I can't remember how to do it... Anyone know how?
    Appreciate a quick response...
    Thanks John

    Use a custom format

    # "packets"
