    Windows Explorer in Win98SE

    Hello!
Did someone notice the mysterious disappearance of the 'Attributes' column in the 'Details' view of the Windows Explorer in Windows98 SE? As a soft developer, I was using this indication heavily to see which files in a given folder were read-only or not (i.e. checked in/out) and this was there in Windows98. I have tried everything to turn this ON again: in Windows98, when going to 'Folder Options', view tab, there was a 'Show file attributes in Detail View' check box, but this is mysteriously gone.
Can anyone help? -thanks so much!!!

I don't remember where I saw this, but it works: Modify your registry:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVe rsionExplorerAdvanced

The value named: "ShowAttribCol" should be set to 1 to show the Attributes column, or set to 0 to not show it.

Since you're a developer, I probably don't need to warn you about backing up the registry. But since others will read this:

Back up the registry before you change it!

    Hope this helps...
