Force Adobe out of the Browser (IE4+)

I have created an application in Adobe which utilises "version 5.05 with search". When I view the application through IE4 and above ( various PC's on the network, hence 4 and above) the search index disappears. However if I open the application from Adobe Reader the search index button is now visible.

My question is: If I create a link on a web page, how can I force the application to open up in it's own window running in Adobe Reader and from outside the browser so that the Search Index button appears?

I hope this is an IE answer!

I know I am answering my own question but if you want to know it is not an IE problem but an Adobe issue in the Edit---> Preferences --->General, then untick "Display PDF in Browser" option

That's what we like around here, just answer you own questions like this and we will all learn.
    Just do not have a argument with youself and lose it. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>
