    dwwin (XP Pro/2002)

When I re-boot or shutdown, I get an error message "dwwin.exe failed to initialize." This apparently has something to do with logging or reporting, but when I change these settings, the problem persists.

Have you disabled error reporting? I've shut it off on my XP station but allow notifications of errors to pop up on screen.

What is in your startup group? Anything strange?

You're not alone in this problem, but the documentation on this EXE is fairly scant (at best). Check out this link for some other ideas. The people in this thread stated something about Dr. Watson, which this definitely is not.

    Thanks for the response.
Yes, I have disabled error reporting - and tried toggling the various options within. The problem remains.

    Thanks again.
