    Favorites

Hi. I've installed some DSL dialup software. It has created a profile and taken over FAVORITES. I still have my C:WindowsFavorites folder, but it is not the controlling favorites. So in any application, when I look at favorites, it goes to this new bizarre favorites folder. I cannot delete this new folder (error message is "this is a windows system folder and cannot be deleted..." or very similar.) I'm in Windows 98.

How do I reset my C:WINDOWSFAVORITES to be the REAL favorites folder? (I've since uninstalled the dialup software, but it still left this profile and favorites folder.)

    THANK YOU!

    Re: Favorites

Use Tweak UI and go to the My Computer Tab > Special Folders Setting.

Also recommend TweakUI for this, but the "Special Folders" adjustment on my version (the older one) is on the General tab.
Selecting the Favorites folder will tell you the location of the folder your system is now using. If it's anything other than C:WindowsFavorites, make a note of that path and then change the path to C:WindowsFavorites. Then go in and delete the "other" Favorites folder and reboot.
