OLE Problem (OS - NT/sp6 and Office XP)

Not sure where to add this to. Getting this error on a Users computer. Can't open this item. An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run SETUP again for the program.

According to the User he has Windows NT sp6 and Office XP.

FIX: Office XP May Fail to Open Documents from a Web Folder That Requires Client Certificates (Q307560)

Also: if Office XP was installed "on top" of Office97, the cause of the problem can be font file haettenschweiler.ttf (Q141373).

Re: OLE Problem (OS - NT/sp6 and Office XP)

It is not saying anything about Web Certificates or unable to open Access or licence. All I get is "Can't open this item. An OLE registration error occurred. The program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program."

Is it true that MS Office 2002 is completely compatible with NT 4.0 SP6A.

What is the user trying to open? Access 2002? A particular database? Does it happen with all Office XP applications?

TRy disabling, if you have it, the Office plug-in for Norton Auntie Virus.

For NAV 2001 and 2002, you can do this via the NSAV options menu.

For NAV 2000, you need to see document 1999091612160606 at Symantec's web site, or,
e.g., q243579 in the MSFT KB.

Re: OLE Problem (OS - NT/sp6 and Office XP)

Found the problem or rather the answer.... OL2000 "An OLE Registration Error Occurred" Error Message - Q318653.

Then installation of Outlook has been corrupted or the Installation is incomplete.

    Thanks everyone
