    Access 97 VS 2000

    Hello:

When running an Access 97 App for the first time using 2000, it seeps as though Access is attempting to convert tables?

Has anyone been able to locate exactly what changes have been implemented in 2000 that might cause issues?

My app has security invoked which it seems is at the root of my problem.

    Thanks.

When you run a 97 app in 2000, it always wants to convert it. If you tell it no, you have a 97 database running in 2000, but you are highly limited as to what you can do to it. The biggest difference between 97 and 2000 (and the reason 2000 tables aren't backward compatible) is unicode. What exactly is your question?

    Re: Access 97 VS 2000

I need to be able to have users run either 97 or 2000 ?
Once they decide on which installation to use, that, no doubt will simplify matters.

Found some info on MS KB site indicating that it is possible to have 2000 not convert a 97 DB. Going to try that today and see if it works.

    Thanks.
