Recently I had a problem trying to get files off an old 486 with Win 3.1 to install on a Pentium Clone Win95. The problem was a formatting problem and not being able to read off the copied files as the message not formatted came up. I got several good suggestions and I finally tried installing a new floppy drive in the old machine with the same result. Files apparently copied but then the new and old machine wouldn't open them with "disk not formatted". I don't know what the base cause is but I was able to get the files off by taking the hard drive out and installing it in another similar 486 we had in the office which was still working ok. Although the other was set up for a network it had no problem copying the files on floppies which the Pentium Clone with Win95 read with no problem. Thanks for the suggestions.
