    Boot Up (XP Pro)

    XP Pro seems to have developed a problem in the last couple days. After an initial boot up it is frozen and I have to hit the reset button and hope it fires up and allows me to run. When it is frozen I can

    Instead of trying to find out what is causing the problem (which may well be a futile exercise) use the System Restore function in XP. It works a treat for precisely this sort of snafu - taking you back to a time before the software causing it ever existed on your system.

    Thanks, I think I have solved many of the problems. I believe it was the installation of MS Money 2002.

    Yes - suspect MSMoney 2002. Took me a couple of days to disable all the stuff that MSM2002 started, and find my way back to the simple stuff I wanted.
