    Switch-off Pagination (WORD 97/2000)

    Hi,

    It's me again. Sorry but perhaps someone can throw some light on this. I have the following scenario:

    If ActiveWindow.View.SplitSpecial = wdPaneNone Then
    ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.Type = wdOutlineView
    Else
    ActiveWindow.View.Type = wdOutlineView
    End If

    With Options
    .Pagination = False
    End With

    ActiveDocument.Fields.Update

    If ActiveWindow.View.SplitSpecial = wdPaneNone Then
    ActiveWindow.ActivePane.View.Type = wdPrintView
    Else
    ActiveWindow.View.Type = wdPrintView
    End If

    I have changed the view to Outline mode (I have also tried Normal mode) and set the Options.Pagination to False. But everytime I update the fields in the active document, WORD re-paginates the document.

    Is it a bug in WORD 2000 or am I doing something wrong.

    Please advise. Thanks very much and in advance.

    Regards

    Robie
    Thanks.

    Re: Switch-off Pagination (WORD 97/2000)

    I suspect that this is built into Word. Many fields are pagination related such as the Table of Contents and cross-references. Updating such fields without repaginating would be a waste of time.

    If there are specific types of fields that you are updating you might try just updating that type of field and see if it makes a difference.
