    Document Templates (Win ME; Office XP)

    Does Word come with document templates? I can recall having seen pro forma templates for contracts and other documents but can't seem to locate them. I looked in Program Files/Microsoft Office and all the folders but could not find them. Can anyone help?

    All suggestions greatly appreciated and gratefully accepted.

    Try File => New

    If you don't find anything there other than normal.dot, you need to reinstall Word using a custom install and making sure you get the templates.

    These may not be what you have in mind, and even if they were, they may not be that good.

    Additional templates can be found in the Templates gallery on the Microsoft website. Again, the value of these varies.

    Additional template sources can be found at Word Links - Templates. There are a number of templates available for download on my downloads page, although probably not what you are looking for. For more information on using templates (like different kinds of templates, where they are stored, and how to get them to show up under the File => New dialog) see Template Basics.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks, Charles.

    That's just the information I needed.
