    reinstall issues (2000/SR-1)

The Calendar continues to lock up Outlook, so I figured a removal of Office, cold boot, and a reinstall would give me a 'new' Outlook. Ha!

I'm back where i started. What did I forget to do?

I've backed up contacts and various email folders into separate *.pst folders so I can import them into the 'clean and refreshed' Outlook. help! <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>

Have you run OL from the command prompt with the following two switches?

/CleanFreeBusy Cleans and regenerates free/busy information.
    /CleanReminders Cleans and regenerates reminders.

Prior to receiving your post, I had run one of the two switches you mentioned, so I tried them both on two separate occasions all to no avail.

    Thanks for trying!

So you have reimported all your PST files (File, Import & Export, From Another Program or File, Personal Folder File(*.pst) and you are still locking up on Calendar? Have you tried archiving out by month or quarter (depending on how heavy your appointment schedule is) to see if there's a time period which contains an offending item, which when removed solves the problem?

    Re: reinstall issues (2000/SR-1)

Not quite, but I was ready to do that if I had found a 'clean' Outlook on the reinstall.

Speaking of which, I did have difficulty doing a PalmPilot HotSync that froze on a particular email that couldn't find; consequently, it sounds like I need to start all from scratch (a painful, ugly task)

Say, thanks for such a prompt reply!

    Re: reinstall issues (2000/SR-1)

Before you uninstall OL, and depending what Palm OS Version and Sync software you are running, if you have a plain vanilla Palm sync operation using PocketMirror, get and install Chapura's latest update Version 3.1 here as it contains better backup capabilities, and sync with it before Uninstalling. I'm a bit unclear on what all you are doing, and I'm not an OL maven, but you may be able to uninstall OL without uninstalling all Office; see if it's possible via Control Panel, Remove. Then reattach your PST's by importing them (if you plan to reset the location of your PST do so before importing). See if calendar still causes problems. Then start archiving your calendar to see if a particular appointment is the problem.
