    Disk Cleanup (XP Pro)

    Under the Disk Cleanup utility I found the option telling Windows XP to compress old files that are not accessed in a certain amount of days. I don

    I thought you would only enable this feature if you check the box by "Compress Old Files"--otherwise it is defaulted to off. Also If you compress them, you take a slight "performance hit" when your system takes time to rebuild the data when you use the compressed file. Of course, in XP you can compress individual files and folders or an entire hard drive in an NTFS filesystem, but you can't encrypt the compressed files.
