capturing LAN ID for use in MS Access DB (Access 97)

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to capture the current Logon ID from an employee's desktop when he or she logs in to be used with features in my MS Access database. I am wanting to use the sign on ID as an attachment to various forms regarding record changes, in order to make an audit trail of everyone who alters a record. Is Access capable of handling this type of request? Thanks in advance for any help you could offer on this.... <img src=/S/help.gif border=0 alt=help width=23 height=15>

If you have secured your database, the CurrentUser function returns the name used to log in to the database. (If you don't use database security, this will always return Admin). There is a Windows API function that returns the network login name.
