    Access Help System (A2K SR-1)

Does anyone have experience creating a non-HTML Help system for an Access database application? I'm progressing slowly using the MS Help Workshop, but I'd appreciate any tips/tricks/web sites that might provide additional guidance. Thank you.

You can create form-based help using a table driven form to supply specific help topics (kind of like a switchboard), but it can't be done quite a simply as attaching a contextID to a form and would probably take as much work as creating the HTML help in the first place. What kind of non-HTML help system were you thinking of?

    Charlotte,

I've started down the road, using Microsoft Help Workshop, of creating context-sensitive popup help windows that are invoked by pressing F1 on any field in my form. The Help Workshop procedures are far from intuitive, though, and I was hoping someone may have tackled this problem and could provide guidance.

The test file I've created is working well, though. The context IDs, window location, etc. are working reasonably well and I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. But it's a bit of a challenge.

So was the pre-HTML version of help until you got the hang of the help editor. Just keep plugging away at it ... then I can ask *you* questions when I need help! <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

Thanks, Charlotte. I'm finding that OJT is pretty much the norm for stuff like this!
