Field with default causes 'blank' records (A2k-SR1)

    Hi,

I recently read a thread about preventing essentially blank records from being added to a table when one of the fields has a default value set in it's table definition. All of the fields will be blank except that field. I have searched for it now and cannot find it.

Can someone please provide a link to that thread,

    Thanks

I'm not sure what was in that thread, but the only way to absolutely prevent those so-called "blank" records is to have field validation rules. That is, make one or more of the fields "Required", and you won't be able to add such blank records.

The other way to handle it, is to run a delete query when the form closes and delete any records that don't have data in the essential fields.
