    Unexpected Error (40230) (A2K SR1)

A database I am using has been converted to an MDE to prevent access to form design, code, etc. However, out of curiosity, I tried to go to Visual Basic to see what would happen. I get an error message, Unexpected Error (40230), which will not go away. The only way to exit out of the database is to go to the task manager and end now.

Any ideas on why this is happening or how to correct it. Other then this, the database appears to work fine.
    Regards,

    Gary

How did you try to go to Visual Basic? In the mdes that are on my system, you can't go to design view on a module, form or report. I have seen one instance where an Access97 mde corrupted, and it appeared you could go to design view, but would then block you, but have never seen anything like that in A2k.

    Wendel,

After creating the .MDE, I was able to attempt to get to the VB Editor via Tools / Macro / Visual Basic. (.. and lock the system...) Since this has happened, I have disabled all of the menus such that this can't be done.

... nope - no luck. I have tried several forums but have not seen any write-ups on this error. To eliminate the possibility to doing this again, I have disabled all of the menus that the user will see.
    Regards,

    Gary
