O2k2 SMTP vs FAX proposal (XP SP 1)

    Folks,

I have recently decided to upgrade to Office XP and overall I am pretty satisfied with my migration.

I am still having an irritating problem with Outlook XP: for some season, whenever I create a new outgoing message and type the name of the recipient I am prompted to choose between e-mail (SMTP) or fax addresses.

The funny thing is that I have absolutely no fax service installed on my machine. Trying to send to fax always result in the following error

do you have fax # in the contacts? outlook 2002 acts like outlook 2000- corp mode and shows fax # as email addresses. Internet mode did not do this.

the easiest way to stop it is to either move fax # to another phone # field or add 'fax' before the number.

    Hi,

Quite clearly I was using Oulook 2000 in Internet mode. I understand that this is not anymore possible ?! Hmm...
