    How about just creating your message in Word directly. When you're satisfied with the result, cut and paste it into a mail message.

    Just a thought.

    rather than cut and past, use the file | send to | email menu - or the little email icon on the standard toolbar. it shows the message header menu to send mail - itr's very convenient for people who use the outlook editor or most mail but also need ot send from word.

    One reason not to do this in some cases is Word "metadata." For example, when you send this way in Word 2000 SR-1, the document properties are encoded into the message source code, along with hidden text and various other stuff. If you're sensitive about that going out, copy and paste would be better. Not sure if this applies in Word 2002.

    not when it's sent as email - and i think the same applies to word 2000. only html code is sent.

    Re: Word editor... or not ? (Outlook XP SP1)

    This kind of stuff is in the code I receive when I send it to myself (bold added for emphasis):

    <title>My Stupid Example Message</title>
    <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>
    <oocumentProperties>
    <o:Revision>1</o:Revision>
    <o:TotalTime>1</o:TotalTime>
    <o:Created>2002-05-16T01:06:00Z</o:Created>
    <o:Pages>1</o:Pages>
    <o:Company>Carr & Ferrell LLP</o:Company>
    <o:Lines>1</o:Lines>
    <o:Paragraphs>1</o:Paragraphs>
    <o:Version>9.3821</o:Version>
    </oocumentProperties>

    This is a sample document<span style='display:none;mso-hide:all'>with hidden text</span>.
    <s style='text-decoration:none'><span class=msoDel><del cite="mailto:Jefferson Scher" datetime="2002-05-15T18:06"> And tracked changes.</del></span></s> <u style='text-decoration:none'><ins
    cite="mailto:Jefferson Scher" datetime="2002-05-15T18:06">Sent using </ins></u><u
    style='text-decoration:none'><ins cite="mailto:Jefferson Scher"
    datetime="2002-05-15T18:07">File|Send to|Mail Recipient...</ins></u>. See what
    I mean??
