    Virus in _RESTORE files

My new laptop (with WinME installed) came back from the servicing company and was riddled with PE_CIH virus (Chernobyl) which I successfully removed with PC-Cillin. Now that I'm paranoid about viruses I scan virtually everyday - until my confidence is restored. However, PC-Cillin persists in reporting that the virus is residing in the System Restore hidden directories in a .CPY file.

I'm guessing that it is pretty well dormant in there unless I ever did a System Restore - I don't intend to do that - but I'd like to clean out this anyway.

Is there a way of deleting this particular file (or files). If I remove one file I reckon the whole of the restore system (at least for this restore point) would be worthless. How do I tell ME to drop the existing archive so that I can create a new one?

Simplest way I know is to right click on My Computer, select Properties, then select the Performance tab. From there click on the File System button at the bottom - Then Troubleshooting tab and you're there. Look at the bottom of the listing for Disable System Restore. Select that line and click on ok until your back to the desktop and reboot.
Go through the same procedure and reboot again and voila - you've got a clear restore directory.
