    CustomAutoFormat (97)

HI! I'm creating a new database and in the first table, my primary key is the autonumberID (created by Access). 1,2,3,... I want to show my custom autonumber format to be, for example, MWP0001, MWP0002, MWP0003 . . . any help is appreciated!

    Re: CustomAutoFormat (97)

Enter the following string in the Number Format property of the field:
    "MWP"0000
You can do this in the table. In that case, it will be used automatically in queries and forms.
If you prefer, you can use it in a form only.

But, in general, users shouldn't see AutoNumber fields. They should be used only to create unique ID's for records. Users often find AutoNumber fields confusing (they can't modify them; if records are deleted, there are gaps in the sequence, ...)
