    Print/Debug (Outlook 2000)

When I try to print emails, I receive an error message to debug and am unable to print. I am trying to print to an HP Laser 4P. I can print a calendar and from other programs okay, but not emails. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Outlook which fixed the problem temporarily, but now it's back again. Not sure what is triggering the error. Help!

    Re: Print/Debug (Outlook 2000)

Sounds like you have code in your Outlook session. Try opening Outlook, hit Alt-F11. Click through the objects in the upper, left-hand panel and make sure there's no code in the windows that show at right. If you're not comfortable with my instructions, see if you can't have someone with a little VBA experience help you. The goal is to remove any code out of your Outlook--assuming that you don't want it and it was not placed intentionally. Of course, there might be other causes, but I suspect this is the most likely one.

    Hope this helps!

    What exactly is the error?

Does it make any difference whether the e-mail messages have attachments and, if so, what kind of attachments they are? In addition to possible code in Outlook itself, Word and Excel could have customized print routines that might generate this kind of error message when they are invoked in the background to print attachments.
