An interesting problem cropped up for me recently on one machine running XP, and now that I've installed it on a second, the problem is surfacing on that PC as well. When uninstalling programs, Windows Installer prompts me for an isscript.msi file, and by default is looking for it in a Temp subfolder under the Adminstrator's Documents and Settings. I searched for the file everywhere on my hard drives and found nothing. I also searched the MSKB for any reference to that file and came up empty. After three hits on the "Cancel" button, the uninstall progresses in a seemingly normal fashion. In both instances, the XP installation is an upgrade to W2K Pro, if that makes any difference. TIA!
