    CreateObject Method (VB 6.0)

    Hi,
When I want to bind Word as object, I do the following :
    set objWord = CreateObject("Word.Application")
What about how to bind a bitmap as object ? What object's application or class must I use ?

    Re: CreateObject Method (VB 6.0)

Is this a continuation of the question HansV answered here?

Word is an application which has its own object library and can serve as an automation server, so you can create a Word application object. Bitmaps are just graphics files, not a program, so the parallel code doesn't exist for a bitmap. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

As Charlotte said, there are not really any methods or classes in VB to handle bitmaps, but they are fairly simple to create from scratch with the Open As Binary. The Encyclopedia of Graphics File Formats by Murray details the structure. I think I have an example at home that I can post if that would help.

Actually (just did a quick search), Q187568 has the class structure for a bitmap object. Hopefully, it will help, but it's not as clear as the book. --Sam
