    I don't know if it will make a difference, but instead of "Microsoft DAO 2.5/3.5 Compatibality Library", you might try "Microsoft DAO 3.51 Library".

    Lose the compatibility library and you may find some other code that is no longer supported and needs rewriting. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    The problem is that Access 97 forms don't have a Me.Recordset method. They have a Me.Recordsource property and a Me.Recordsetclone method, and you need the latter for a recordcount. The syntax you're trying to move to A97 is new to A2k.
