    Default file path (Word 2000/2002)

    Hi everyone, I have been trying to use this line
    strpath = Options.DefaultFilePath(wdDocumentsPath)

    to get the path as listed in Tools, Options, File Locations, Documents

    However, I have found that this works fine the first time I open a document. If I then open a document from another folder this line returns the current folder - not what is appearing in the File Locations dialog.

    Any ideas? I want to use this path as the "root" and it will change depending on what office the user is in, but all the subfolders should then be the same.

    TIA

    Microsoft confirms this in KB article Q220193.

    The workaround is to use the Options dialog to get the correct setting:

    strPath = Dialogs(wdDialogToolsOptionsFileLocations).Setting
