    Customized toolbar (97)

At work I'm the only user of my computer so my toolbar with my special preferences remains untouched.
At home there are many users and and frequently my additions to the toolbar disappear. So I created a separate customized toolbar. This has now been corrupted.
My question - where can I save my personal customized toolbar outside the main excel page so that if corrupted I can recall it from the place saved?

Toolbar customizations (both modifications to built-in toolbars and toolbars created by you) are saved in a file with extension .xlb in the Windows folder.
The exact file name depends on your Windows version and how you have set up your system.
If you have to log on with a user name, the file is named username8.xlb (replace username by your logon name).
    Otherwise, it is named Excel8.xlb.

You can make a backup copy of this file and restore the copy if the original is corrupted.

You can also save a user-created toolbar in a workbook:
    Select Tools/Customize...
    Click on Attach...
Select the user-created toolbar in the list on the left hand side
    Click Copy

Thanks. I'll try that this evening at home.

If you save the .xlb file, and then need to restore it, see THIS THREAD for the procedure to restore.
