    Drop down Menu (Office XP)

How do I change the default in the drop down menu so that I do not have to hover the mouse over the twin down arrows to reveal the remaining options? I remember reading in one of Woody's books the solution but I am unable to find it now. Thanks

I suppose it's the same for xp as for 2000.
Right click a gray part of the toolbar and choose customize.
In the customize window, select the tab Options and uncheck the check box Menus show recently used commands first.

I have tried that, however every time I exit and re-enter the program, the setting has reset. Custom/delay menus turns itself back on. How can I disable this?

    Try:

Q291484 : WD2002: Toolbars and Menu Bar Are Missing, or Settings Are Not Retained When You Start Word

There is a section covering Word not retaining personalized settings. (The personalized settings appear to be common across the entire Office suite.)

    Double-clicking the menu also works.

Re: Drop down Menu (Office XP)

Thanks. I seem to have fixed it by running the XP-Home Accessibility Wizard, and telling --it-- to turn off all personalize menus. There seems to have been a Registry setting somehwere (who knows where) that got messed up...
