Access Version Problem (97/2000)

We have a mixed Access environment of versions 97 and 2000. We have a key database that was created in 97. The vast majority of folks have 97. Because of some problems with the database since the introduction of 2000 I would like to prevent those attempting to open the DB with to receive a message cautioning them against proceeding, then refusing to open the DB. I need some code that will check the version of Access being used and act accordingly. That is, let 97 users in and keep 2000 users out.

Re: Access Version Problem (97/2000)

syscmd(acSysCmdAccessVer)
it will return 9.0 for Access 2000 and 8.0 for Access 97.
Based on that you can use :

If SysCmd(acSysCmdAccessVer) = "9.0" Then
MsgBox "This application is only for Access 97"
Application.Quit
End If
