    Un-group-by messages (Outlook 2000)

    Obviously I have done this to myself. But I don't know how to un-do it. Or, rather, I can do it one folder at a time but would like to do it to all of them.

    Somehow I have managed to set all my email subfolders to be viewed with a group-by of From. I vaguely remember following an articles instructions on how to do that and thinking it was neat but I only intended it for one specific folder. It seems to have affected all except the inbox. I can reset each folder individually but I have a lot of them and its a nuisance.

    How can I fix this globally?

    You can easily reset your views back to the default by closing Outlook and:

    Start-->Run and type

    outlook.exe /cleanviews

    That was excellent. Thank you.

    I don't suppose there are other global formatting commands? Like, don't use preview pane and don't hog so much memory?

    Hmm...well, there is.

    outlook.exe /nopreview

    completely disables the preview pane, although this is an option under (I think) tools-options, Other

    Don't hog so much memory? Sorry, Paul... LOL!

    cleanviews wipes out all custom views, it should only be used as a last resort.

    For individual views, use views | current view | define views, select the currently used view by name and modify it to remove grouping (or reset just that view).
