    Automatic style recognition (Word 2000)

When I format a normal paragraph with the same parameters as a defined style (say Heading 1), Word automatically applies the Heading 1 style to this paragraph. How can I prevent this ?

I want to control and decide what is Heading 1 and what is not, even if a paragraph shares the same format characteristics.

    Thanks for any clue.

    Hi C Potvin:
Go to Tools/AutoCorrect/AutoFormat as you type & untick "Define styles based on your formatting". While you're at it, you might untick anything in that box that you don't want Word to "correct" for you.

    Cheers,
