Whay can't I connect to DSL

Here's my situation. I have a switched network. 2 XP machines, 1 Win2K, and an old 133MHz which I just upgraded from 98SE to 2K. All the computers except the 133 connected right up to the DSL router. Since I couldn't get the older machine to connect, I upgraded the OS w/o problem (except the NIC), and NIC (as a consequence of upgrading). I can connect to all of the machines across the switch, all machines can connect to the router except the 133. I can't even ping the router from it. The behavior is pretty much the same as before the OS and NIC upgrade. IOW, I had access to the network but not the router. Anybody have any idea why this would be?

Re: Whay can't I connect to DSL

All fixed now. Can't really explain it. I had already ordered a new switch (8-port), and it arrived today. I brought everything down, plugged in the new switch, brought it all back up and vo'ila, all is right with the world. I checked each port in the old switch and all checked out so I'm still at a loss, but happy.
