    Resizing forms (97)

    Resizing forms
I can never align my form detail and footer properly.
When I run the form the window size is never exactly right to accommodate all the sections. It always seems as though the detail section is little bigger than the current screen size.
This frustrates me to no end because if I

The only thing I can suggest is to keep testing the form as you design it to make sure everything fits. You might also want to disable PgUp and PgDown by trapping the KeyDown events and ignoring them. They cause other problems as well, since they are also record navigation keys.

The tab control can't be any bigger than the detail section and its contents can't be any bigger than a tab page. What do you have on the tab control, and if it's a subform, are you sure the subform is sized to fit within the tab control page completely?

My tab control & detail section are the same size. The only thing on the tab are small controls, text boxes, labels and combo boxes, nothing else.

Then it sounds like the saved size of the form is not large enough for the detail section/tab control. Have you tried setting the Auto Resize property of the main form to Yes?

Well, I just tried your suggestion & problem still not solved. The form still is either a millimeter too big OR too short, never exact so that the border between the detail and footer section is invisible.

The border between the detail and footer section? The size of your footer (which you hadn't mentioned) and your header will also affect how much room your detail section has. If all you need is a line between the detail and the footer (assuming you actually need a footer), turn on the Dividing Lines property and it will put in a line for you.
