    Unreaded posts

When I open a forum, the unread posts are marked with a little red triangle.
If I open the thread, and close it after reading the red triangle are supposed to disappear for that thread.
Since two days the red triangles stay on when I close the thread and only disappear when I close IE (ver 6.0.2600.0000)
IE settings are set like in Word from High.
I have deleted the www.wopr cookie, with no results.
    Any suggestion ?

    Re: Unreaded posts

I suspect that when you 'close' the thread you are clicking on the back button. Rather than do that click on the upward facing triangle (^) at the bottom of the page.

Or when viewing the posts click on your refresh button. Either should load a new page, instead of retrieving one from your cache.

P.S. Don't thank me - Thank Leif (who answered a similar question that I had)

    Re: Unreaded posts

I never use the back button, always the yellow triangle above or under the thread.
    Refrech don't work.
The only way to get rid of it is closing IE. Even navigate to other sites, and come back to the lounge don't help.

Edit as my memory is working again
Two days ago I install the Q321232: Security Update. Could that be the culprit ?

    Thanks Dave and Bowlie.
What I don't understand is, if it was a bad cookie and I delete it (there was only one on the pc), the problems stays.
When I logged out and logged in, the problem was gone.
But anyway, it's working again and if I would understand all, I guess life would be boring

    Francois,

Back in the early days of computers a programmer told me that once you got a computer to do what you wanted correctly once, it would do it correctly forever. Do you believe that?

It will until something gets changed <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15> and things (files) are being changed all the time.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

In addition to Dave's answer; there is also the problem that the guys in Redmond think they know what we want and already have tell to the computer what we want. So when we want something from the computer, we have to tell him that we are not expecting a Redmond response but what we really want.

I guess all these things are what makes a place like Woody's Lounge such an interesting and informative place to frequent.
