    Forms- Tab control (Word 2000)

Whenever a form is created and locked the user must press the tab key to go through the fields and type their data. However, they can still press the enter key which can mess the document and get the user off the fields. Is there a way to change Word so that the user can either press the enter key to go through the fields instead of tab or better yet lock the document so that ONLY those form fields can be accessed and the enter key (or tab key) cannot work?

To my knowledge, no. The workaround is to put your formfields in table cells. Set the row height to EXACTLY a size that will only reveal one line of text. If you do that, they can type all day long, hit enter all day long, but the text won't show. Of course, you can use the Max number of characters in the properties of the form field--just double-click the form field while your doc is unprotected. Be aware that a dozen Ws take up a whole lot more room than a dozen Ls...
