Recurring Appointment

I deleted all occurances of a recurring appointment that was scheduled to remind me of it each morning at 7am. However, each morning I get the same reminder dated 5-11-00. When I go to that date, there is no appointment to delete. Any idea on how to delete this?

Hmm... You have probably already done this, but when the reminder comes up have you clicked on Dismiss or just closed it. If you don't do Dismiss it will keep coming back to haunt you.

Yes, I've tried dismissing it. That gets rid of it for the current day. But, because I had it set to recur every day, it just keeps showing up, kind of like a bad penny.

What happens when you click on the Open this item option? If it opens it, you could
a: clear the reminder
b: delete the appointment again.

It can't open the reminder, because it isn't there. That's what is so strange. It comes up every morning, yet it doesn't show up anywhere.

I remember reading about a similar problem some months ago but can't remember what the eventual outcome was - sorry
Are you using net folders or net meeting? Just wondering if the info is being stored elsewhere?
Have you tried archiving 'up-to' after that date?
Otherwise:
Try exporting the contents of your calendar to a .txt file and see if you can spot it in there.

Re: Recurring Appointment

Here is an excerpt from a Microsoft Knowledge Base article that may help you (close Outlook first and type the text in Start / Run):

For example, if you wish to use the /Cleanreminders switch, the command line should read:

"C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeOutlook.exe." /Cleanreminders

scanpst.exe will (I assume) do the same. It's cleaned out ghost appointments for me in the past.
