    Corrupted file (Project 2000)

I'm sure this is an old question, but I could not find an answer anywhere in the database.

I have a file that seems to be corrupted. When I open the file, it says there is a circular relationship in a task. The task numbers seem to be all screwed up, and the "+" and "-" signs for summary tasks don't seem to work properly. Further, Project hangs when I try to save the file under a different name.

Is there a fix for this?

    Re: Corrupted file (Project 2000)

I hate to say this, but the only fix I am aware of is to go into the project and eliminate the circular reference. You could try opening the project and recalculating it (Press F9) to see if project will tell you where the circular reference is occurring.

The Pert view may help as well you to step through the task relationships.

If you are really stuck, post the project to see if anyone can find the problem.

    (It's been a while!)
