    AutoNumbering... (XP)

    Hi,

You know how in Excel, when typing a sequentially numbered column - it can give you the following number automatically when the CTRL key is pressed & the mouse dragged?

Can I do the same in a Word Table Column?

So I start with 1, but want Word to give me the 2, 3... which are under it vertically.

    Thanks,

    m.q.

    Hi m.q.:
Actually, I thought Excel does that when you drag the handle in the lower right corner down (or across) without holding the Ctrl key, but I'm a novice at Excel.

In any event, the same method doesn't work in Word. After all, why would the Word programers talk to the Excel programers. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15> However, in Word, select your column & press the numbering button on the Formatting toolbar (or Format/Bullets & Numbering...). You can choose your numbering scheme with the latter.

    Cheers,
