Conditional Text in Word (Word 2000)

Hi,

Does anyone suggestions for the best way to tackle using conditional text in Word?
I have a help project that has 95% similarity to another project...just the branding
is different. I'd like to use some form of conditional text/macro solution to keep one
source for both projects.

I'm leaning towards hiding/unhiding text depending on the branding, but was wondering
if there are more elegant solutions out there.

I would define two character styles (and assign short cut keys so it's easy to enter the text).

You might want to color them other than auto. Red and Blue for instance.

Then all you need is an interface to toggle one of the two, by changing the style definition, into hidden.

I'm a little confused about what your trying to accomplish. You want certain text to occur under what circumstances? I'm not a VBA expert, but Word has {IF THEN ELSE} fields, if you're referring to something that Word can evaluate or if you're doing a mail merge.

I'm not sure I can help, but maybe if you describe things with more specificity, I'll try.

Guy had what I was looking for. I wanted a solution that I could use to show or
hide text and inline graphics based on which "brand" the help file needs to
be compiled for...
