    Paste Unformatted Txt? (2k/XP)

    Hi,

    Is there a shortcut key for Pasting Unformatted Text?

    Assuming there wasn't I recorded a macro to do this, but it just pastes it as Formatted Text.
    The Macro Recorder cannot seem to pick up the selection I make from the "Paste Special" dialogue box.

    Any ideas please?
    Thanks,

    m.q.

    I don't think there is a standard shortcut. There was an article on pasting unformatted text in Woody's Office Watch 6-45 last year. Perhaps you can use the tips given there.

    I just recorded the following:

    Selection.PasteSpecial Link:=False, DataType:=wdPasteText, Placement:= wdInLine, DisplayAsIcon:=False

    Hi,

    We recorded the same macro that cbarber has listed and then saved it to our toolbar template and connected it to a custom button on our toolbar. After copying text to the clipboard, you can just click on the button to paste it unformatted. We're using Windows 2000, Word 2000; I don't know if this would be different in XP.

    Re: Paste Unformatted Macro Code

    In certain templates, including my letter templates and my envelope templates, I've even attached this macro to the Ctrl-V shortcut figuring that the vast bulk of the time I want unformatted text in these so as to not carry unwanted formatting from other sources. When I want to paste with the formatting, I simply use the menu.
