Switching forums

How do I switch forums when replying to a post?

Example: I'm reading something in the Word forum and want to continue the discussion but know that it is veering away from Word to, say, Lounge matters (as happened to me today), or it's wandering away from Word and into VBA. I want to Reply to the post, but I don't want my reply in the original forum.

If there is a reward in this life, it would be a feature that allowed me to click on reply, nominate an alternate forum, post an automatic message "replied in VBA" or similar, maintain the subject line, and drop my reply in the new forum.

Such a mechanism would permit a continuing dialogue with identical subject line and inhibit (my natural) tendency to wander off-topic.

As most of you know I'm struggling with new tricks here and may just have overlooked the mechanism. When you're my age .....

If you insist on wandering off-topic then you'll just have to suffer the consequences...

Well, it WAS May 1967 when I decided that computers were good because it meant I never had to do anything "again" again. Nothing has changed. They still process data to give me information.

I (and others) made great use of the ability to switcvh a thread to another BBS conference as a means to keep the contents of each conference (forum) reasonable pure for the user who wasn't part of the general chit-chat. That's why i like to encourage forum-switching. It may not be quite as big an issue here, I know.
