new message?

    I'm still lost.

I've used the Search, obtained a slew of hits, gone into Flat mode, read all the mesasges, and can't see a relevant one, so decide to instigate a new message.

    I can't see a "new" button. I can see, I think, a Reply button.

I go back to Threaded mode, and still see no "new" button.

I can jump to the forum I happen to be in, but that seems like I'm doing a boring repetitive task, and that's what computers are supposed to be doing.

Have I missed a step? I'm 55 etc. etc. etc.

    Hi Chris,
As far as I'm aware you haven't missed anything. You can only add a new post from the 'index' view of the relevant forum.
Re your other post where you were quoting, you can preview your messages before posting so you can see what they will look like first

Read the FAQ - "How do I post a message?".

I want to Post a Message. Where's the Button?
Look at the set of buttons over on the right.
(If you hover your mouse over a button, a popup label will appear telling you what it does.)

When displaying a list of all threads, the button will let you Make a New Post on that board.
When viewing individual threads, the button allows you to Reply to a post.

    This FAQ?

It's fine - as long as one can see the "new" button. My problem was that i couldn't see the "New" button anywhere on the screen!

Ah, this os good news. Thanks Rory. I could equally well use my browser's BACK button then.

And thank you; I have explored the Preview screen, as well as used the spell-checker. Not that i really knead it!

    Re: new message?

Stay away from your browser back button when in the lounge! It really messes up the unread message and new message flags. Use the forum navagation buttons.
